Olivia Hicks is a freelance motorsports and environmental journalist reporting on the sustainability, business and culture behind Formula 1. She contributes to the top motorsport publication, Motorsport.com, where she covers the business of fan culture for the site’s 40 million unique monthly readers. Over at Race Tech Magazine, she brings an environmental voice as a regular contributor to the industry's leading engineering and technical print publication.

Her byline has appeared in Motorsport Network, Blackbook Motorsport, Esses Magazine, The Des Moines Register, Seattle’s lifestyle and business magazines and more. When she's not freelancing, Olivia writes about the money behind motorsports on her Substack. Her reporting has taken her from the winding streets of Monaco to the deserts of South America and everywhere in between.

Olivia graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Environmental Journalism and the Columbia School of Journalism’s Columbia Publishing Course with a post-grad certificate obtained at Oxford University. That same year, she won the Society of Professional Journalists “Mark of Excellence” award for environmental coverage and podcasting. Previously, Olivia has worked for one of the “Big Five” international book publishers and held positions as a digital editor, social media coordinator and story editor.
